Diary Of A Stripper - Weird Fetishes
By Solitaire on 28 Jan 2008
Certain fetishes seem pretty normal to me now after five years of stripping. Kinks for feet, stockings, uniforms, and mild S&M don’t register as anything unusual. Sometimes I am still surprised, such as when I’m wearing my diamond butt plug and guys say they want to take it out with their teeth. Actually that one shouldn’t surprise me any more as it’s a fairly common reaction to seeing it (I wouldn’t ever let anyone do this - it needs quite a firm tug then pops out with quite some force, and the resulting dental bill, or even worse the metal plug in your stomach on the x-ray in the hospital, may prove difficult to explain). But generally things are quite predictable. It can be the same with fetish and ‘weird sex’ films, as with the two I reviewed this week, Sexual Oddities No. 1 and Circus of Sin. It's refreshing to see something different to standard porn, but there’s not much we've not heard of before (although to give Circus of Sin credit, a girl with three clits was a new viewing experience for me).
So I did a bit of a double-take when I saw the email in my inbox inviting me to model for a new balloon fetish website, www.LoonLust.com. This was something I’d never heard of before. Was it a joke? I checked out the temporary web page, which as well as modeling information and rates contained links to articles and other sites about the balloon fetish. The photographer - who himself has the fetish - stated clearly that he wanted models to understand what they were doing and why.
That convinced me the advert was for real. I clicked on the links and learnt that the balloon fetish usually starts in childhood, when balloons are associated with an exciting event. The excitement combined with the fear of the pop can turn into a sexual fetish. There’s also the look, feel and smell of balloons, plus, more disturbingly, the fact that the balloon is being inflated with air which has come from within the girl (I couldn’t find any sites with men blowing the balloons up).
I love working with people who have a genuine passion for what they are doing, so several emails and phone calls later I was on a train to Cambridgeshire for my first balloon shoot. I’d been told to make my feet look as good as possible and to wear aqua-blue nail polish on my toes – feet are important as there are so many close-ups of them pressing down on the balloons. We’d be shooting lots of photos and also some film.
Made-up, changed into lingerie and ready, we started. I had to blow up a balloon, tie a knot in the end, then put it under my feet and pop it, all while reclining on a wall by a fish pond. This went smoothly, apart from a bit of trouble with the knotting, and my fear that jumping at the surprise of the pop would tip me into the pond. We moved around the garden with me blowing and popping balloons in various ways, including blow-to-pop, which means blowing the balloon until it pops in your face. I found this a scary prospect, but being a determined professional, gave it a try, and suffered only a momentary sting on the cheek. I used my extensive teasing experience during one of the films by blowing the balloon up, then letting the air out and doing it again. It’s all about building the anticipation of the pop. We also collected the shards of shattered balloons, to sell on the website.
During my first costume change I texted my best friend saying “this is the easiest job in the world, I love it!”. However, I didn’t know how the remaining three hours of shoot would take its toll. Blowing up a few balloons is easy, even if some of them are big, thick, professional party balloons. But eventually all the puffing started to get tiring, my thumbs got sore from all the tight knotting, and my legs got tired from pushing down slowly on the balloons (much harder than you might think, they should start this up as a gym class!). The worst thing though were the latex whipmarks – the little sting of the first blow-to-pop had been replaced by proper sharp pain where skin had been repeatedly hit. A particularly bad whip across my nose and eyelid burned for minutes and made my eyes water, and I finally said I couldn’t do any more popping-in-face. Also by the end I had a splitting headache, from all the blowing and close-up popping. The photographer had the benefit of earmuffs so he didn’t jump and ruin the shot when the balloon burst – the ultimate aim is to capture it mid-pop – but of course I didn’t have that luxury.
By the end I was exhausted, and telling myself if I ever saw a balloon again I’d lose my mind. I was also doubtful how good some of the pics would look – it’s hard to pose in a flattering way when you’re trying to force the last bits of air into a two-foot balloon to make it burst while hoping the flying latex doesn’t take your eye out. But then we looked at some of the photos and watched some of the videos back straight away, and I loved what I saw. I'm obviously having great fun, and that's my favourite thing to see in a photo. It’s impossible to fake reaction of the balloon popping – another part of the fetish’s appeal – and I hadn’t even been aware I make a little “whoop!” sound of surprise when they pop, or grinning so widely. The colours are great and the poses have actually come out well, but it's the fun that's the most appealing thing.
I was so pleased with the results, in fact, that when I was invited back for a second shoot I said yes. Armed with aspirin and making sure I’d get a 20 minute break mid-shoot this time, I headed back north. We did less blow-to-pop – perhaps the photographer was being sympathetic remembering the last time – but a lot more sit-to-pop. Naked sit-to-pop is almost as scary as blow-to-pop – as I felt the balloon press hard against my pussy, I was just hoping to hell I didn’t get whipped across the clit. That didn’t happen, but by the end of the shoot I did have thin red welts across the insides of my thighs from the repeated bursting. Ouch.
Still, the results were great, and now the website has gone live it’s fantastic viewing. There are several different girls on there – a few others also strippers like me – and more being added all the time. Site subscribers can request special shoots and on their birthdays get pictures of a balloon with their name on it being blown and popped. Maybe because it’s a niche fetish, the community seems very close, and the launch of a new website has been warmly welcomed even by the other existing sites out there.
I’m now looking forward to my third shoot. Apparently the fetish is huge in Japan - maybe I’ll become a star in the balloon fetish universe, and be flown to Tokyo by wealthy executives to do balloon-popping acts at kinky parties. I would say 'stranger things have happened...', but in this case, they haven't!
