Safer Sex Is Hotter Sex
By AJ on 23 May 2007

With all the barebacking porn around at the moment, I have to admit, I'm more than a little jaded. You see, I'm one of those guys who really doesn't care to watch men fucking without condoms. It's no hotter to me. It's not all that sexy. I don't get off on the risk. I'm looking at the men, at their faces, their bodies, their cocks going in and out. I barely even notice the presence of a condom.

In non bareback porn, the condom is usually whisked away off camera for a nice moneyshot to the face or wherever, so there's no ultimate difference in the end. The top pulls out so we can see his semen, and the actual spurt, and how far it shoots. And I love this - it's extrodinarily sexy.

But in a lot of bareback porn movies, there's an emphasis on not seeing it - the top pulls faces and moves to demonstrate his ejaculation so you know it's happening, but he does it in the bottom's arse. And that, I just don't want to see. It just reminds me of the dangers of unsafe sex, friends who've contracted HIV from one horny bareback fuck, a lifetime of regret for the sake of one internal climax.

I've heard the arguments. I know bareback porn is meant to depict fantasy - guys doing things you wouldn't do, taking risks you wouldn't take, for the sake of hot sex. And of course I'm aware that straight porn is almost 100% bareback - yes they get tested regularly, and so do gay porn actors. But the truth is, I just don't think such a fetish for bareback gay porn is neccessary - condoms don't make it less hot - sex doesn't have to be unsafe to get you off. (Unless you're a 'bug chaser', but that's a whole different ball game).

So why is condomless porn so popular now? With HIV so widespread, tearing peoples' lives apart, why do men still insist porn is more erotic without a rubber? Is it a result of so much AIDS education, insisting, "don't do this, don't do this, don't do this?" Are guys just rebelling - wanting to see and do the forbidden - see sex done the way they're not supposed to do it?

responsibility
For me, condoms are as much a part of anal sex as lube. They're incorporated into the sexual atmosphere - all the way from a condom or two 'accidentally' being visible in my wallet when I buy a drink for a guy I fancy, to showing off my deepthroat skills by swiftly putting one on his cock with only my mouth, in one smooth move. I even use condoms with my long term boyfriend. To do otherwise would be unthinkable - how could I enjoy a lifestyle of regular sex with different men if I barebacked? I'd always be worrying, always have risks and consequences at the back of my mind as I got fucked.

I just don't want men to be taken in by the fantasy of bareback pornography and start thinking it's safe and normal. Sure, some of the movies have a safesex warning message at the beginning or end, but it's not enough. In my opinion, it takes more than a 2 second screen logo about condoms to over-ride the erotic influence of 2 hours of bareback fucking.

This is why I love all these sexy (and sometimes shocking) safe-sex adverts. They may not be R18 strength, but they're certainly hot enough to stick in my head, with all the lush naked guys, and I wanted to stick them all in one place for you to perv over, and hopefully get the message across as well.

I love the horrifying yet strangely arousing imagery in this French AIDS awareness advert. The caption reads: 'Without a condom, you could be making love to AIDS. Protect yourself.'

And finally, a 3 minute long animated gay safe sex movie, Sugar Baby Love - a lovely portrayal of one boy's search for the right man, with lots of exciting and amusing sex along the way... Be sure to check out My Boy Lollipop too, for more naked cartoon boy action (it's aimed at straights, but it's oh so cute).
