In what may be an attempt to form some cohesiveness against Bernie Sanders inside the Democratic platform, both Buttigieg and Steyers dropped out of the presidential race over the weekend.
According to Trump, this was an attempt to fight back against Sanders winning the nomination this year.
Pete Buttigieg is OUT. All of his SuperTuesday votes will go to Sleepy Joe Biden. Great timing. This is the REAL beginning of the Dems taking Bernie out of play – NO NOMINATION, AGAIN!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 1, 2020
But, as both candidates dropped out, they applauded each other for the good fight they put up.
.@PeteButtigieg brought a fresh perspective and sense of optimism to the race. His call for inclusivity is laudable. As the first openly gay candidate to mount a major bid, he has proven we aren’t limited by who we love. #MayorPete has a bright future and will help us #WinTheEra.— Tom Steyer (@TomSteyer) March 2, 2020
.@TomSteyer, thank you for your passion and your advocacy. This election has been made better by your voice on climate change and strengthening our democracy. I look forward to working with you to defeat Donald Trump and chart a new path for our country.— Pete Buttigieg (@PeteButtigieg) March 1, 2020
That leaves Biden, Sanders, Warren, Bloomberg, Klobuchar and Gabbard.
Who do you think has the nomination in their pocket to go up against Trump?
